AML and Verification Explained
This page sets out how Reelraven Casino meets its anti-money-laundering obligations and what identity verification means for you in practice. We keep the language plain because compliance works best when everyone understands the rules.
Our Anti Money Laundering Commitment
We operate under licence ALSI-202502014-FI1 issued by the Anjouan Gaming Authority, and Raven Interactive Ltd, as the operator of reelraven-aud.com, carries the legal duty to prevent our platform from being used to launder criminal proceeds or finance unlawful activity. We meet that duty through a risk-based framework built on three pillars: customer due diligence at defined trigger points, continuous monitoring of deposit and withdrawal activity, and internal reporting whenever a transaction or a behavioural pattern raises a genuine concern.
We apply the standards set out in the FATF Recommendations and the specific conditions of our Anjouan licence. Our compliance team, led by our designated Money Laundering Reporting Officer (MLRO), reviews this framework on an ongoing basis, and every member of staff who handles payments or account data completes AML training before taking up the role and refresher training each year thereafter.
When We Verify Your Identity
Verification happens in stages rather than all at once. When you register we confirm the basic details of your account, including your date of birth and your country of residence, and we screen your identity against sanctions and politically exposed person lists. Full document verification is triggered before your first withdrawal, so you can deposit and play while we hold your documents for later review.
We also re-verify at defined thresholds. Larger withdrawals, a sudden change in deposit behaviour or a change in your payment methods can each prompt a fresh check. A verification that passed at A$500 may not be sufficient at A$8,000, and that is a feature of every regulated casino, not a decision aimed at you personally.
- Government issued photo ID: passport, national identity card or driver licence, valid and showing all four corners
- Proof of address: a utility bill, bank statement or tax notice dated within the last three months in your name
- Proof of payment method ownership: a card photo showing the first six and last four digits, or a wallet or bank statement confirming the account belongs to you
How Verification Works
Our review team usually completes verification within 24 to 48 hours of receiving legible documents. You upload everything through the secure document section of your account, and you can track the status there in real time, so you never need to email personal documents to a support address.
Documents are stored on encrypted servers with strict access controls. Only authorised members of our compliance team can open a verification file, every access is logged, and we never share your documents with third parties except where the law obliges us to.
- Log in and open the verification section of your account
- Upload a clear photo or scan of your government ID
- Upload a recent proof of address in your own name
- Upload proof of ownership for your deposit method
- Wait for our review, normally finished within 24 to 48 hours
- Withdrawals unlock automatically once the review is complete
Source of Funds Requests
For most players, identity documents are all we ever need. Source of funds evidence becomes relevant when the money moving through an account does not match the profile we hold for you, for example when a single withdrawal or a short run of deposits is far above your usual level. In those cases our MLRO must be satisfied that the funds come from a lawful origin before we release the payment.
We ask only for what the situation requires. Acceptable evidence includes recent payslips, audited business accounts, a bank statement showing the build up of the balance, a signed contract for the sale of an asset, or documentation of an inheritance. For crypto deposits we may ask for records showing the origin wallet and how it was funded. Everything you send is treated in confidence and reviewed by the smallest possible number of people.
Monitoring Deposits and Withdrawals
Every deposit and withdrawal passes through automated screening that flags amounts, frequency and patterns inconsistent with recreational play. Flagged items go to a human reviewer, and a small share of those reach our MLRO for a formal assessment. This happens in the background, and most players will never notice it.
We return withdrawals to the same method you used to deposit wherever that method supports payouts. If you deposited by card, we pay back to that card up to the amount you deposited before any surplus goes to an alternative method you have verified. Crypto withdrawals follow the same principle: funds go back to a wallet you control and can prove.
Withdrawal limits are A$8,000 per day and A$32,000 per month, with a minimum withdrawal of A$30. We process requests within 0 to 24 hours, charge no fees of our own, and crypto payouts are typically settled within an hour once our checks clear.
When Verification Fails
If documents are missing, illegible or inconsistent with your account details, we pause withdrawals on that account until the issue is resolved. A pause is not an accusation. In the majority of cases the problem is a cropped ID edge, an out of date bill or a name mismatch between the account and the payment method, and a single corrected upload resolves it.
Where a player refuses to verify after reasonable reminders, or where our checks reveal a deliberate attempt to mislead us, we close the account. We may also report the matter to the relevant authority where the law requires it. Accounts registered from restricted jurisdictions, including the USA, the UK, France, Spain, the Netherlands, Belgium, Germany, Russia, Ukraine, China, Iran and North Korea, are closed and refunded at our discretion. Where a suspicion of money laundering exists, anti-tipping-off rules may prevent us from telling you the reason for a decision, and we will not discuss such cases by live chat.
How Long We Keep Documents
We retain verification records and transaction histories for five years after your account closes. The retention period exists because our regulator can audit our files at any time and because law enforcement bodies can lawfully request records during an investigation. When the five year period expires we delete or irreversibly anonymise your documents, and you can request deletion of marketing data sooner under our privacy policy.
Frequently Asked Questions
Can I play before I complete verification?
Yes. You can register, deposit and play straight away. We complete full document verification before your first withdrawal, and most reviews finish within 24 to 48 hours.
Why must withdrawals go back to my deposit method?
The same-method rule is an anti-money-laundering requirement that confirms the person withdrawing the funds is the person who deposited them. Any surplus above your total deposits can go to an alternative verified method.
What happens if my documents are rejected?
We tell you which document failed and why, and you can upload a corrected version through your account. Withdrawals stay paused until the review passes, and most rejections are fixed with one better photo.
Do you report suspicious activity to authorities?
Where the law requires it, yes, and anti-tipping-off rules mean we cannot always inform you that a report has been made. This applies to every licensed operator, not just to us.
